Contemporary Relics     

For this series of works I wanted to explore displaying relics in a way that looks less like ornate religious relics intended for public view. Convent relics were much plainer. Labels are included to give the viewer an insight into the significance but also as a reference to convent relics. I have given them a contemporary twist by using painted backgrounds to complement the items.

Relics can evoke memories of times past, and each item here holds significance for me personally.
